Master Medicine Ltd Terms and Conditions (Issue 1)

1. Introduction
1.1. This website, operated by Master Medicine Ltd, is a digital educational platform designed to support the revision and academic development of medical students and healthcare professionals.
1.2. The use of this website and any associated services (together, the "Platform") is subject to the following terms and conditions (the "Terms"). Please read these Terms carefully before accessing or using the Platform.
1.3. By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you accept these Terms and Conditions and agree to be legally bound by them as set out below. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform, or any services provided by Master Medicine Ltd.
1.4. These Terms and Conditions apply to all users of the Platform, whether or not registered. Master Medicine Ltd reserve the right to amend these Terms from time to time without prior notice. The applicable Terms shall be those in force at the time of your use or, where applicable, subscription.
2. Purpose and Use of the Platform
2.1. The Platform is provided solely for educational and revision purposes. It is not intended to provide clinical guidance, replace professional training, or substitute formal medical education.
2.2. You acknowledge and accept that the Platform is not a clinical tool and must not be used for diagnosing conditions, making treatment decisions, or providing patient care. All users must independently verify medical content with authoritative sources such as the BNF, GMC guidance, NICE guidelines and NHS standards.
2.3. You agree to use the Platform in a manner consistent with these Terms and by all applicable laws and regulations, including NHS standards of practice and academic integrity principles.
3. Subscription and Payment
3.1. Subscription fees are published on the Platform and may be amended at any time without any prior notice.
3.2. All payments must be made in pounds sterling. Where payment is made from a non-UK account, the card issuer will determine the exchange rate, and any associated charges will be applied.
3.3. By subscribing, you agree to provide accurate billing information and confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method supplied.
3.4. Once a subscription has been made and access to the Platform has been granted, you will not be entitled to cancel your subscription or receive a refund under any circumstances. By subscribing, you acknowledge and accept that the service is deemed to have commenced immediately upon access being granted, and accordingly, you waive any statutory or contractual right to cancel. All payments are non-refundable.
3.5. Any cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Master Medicine reserve the right to apply an administrative charge in connection with any cancellation granted. (Raja to check if this clause should be included)
4. Account Security and Permitted Use
4.1. Account access is strictly personal to the registered subscriber. You must not share, transfer, or allow third-party access to your account.
4.2. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use.
4.3. You must not:
- Attempt to copy, extract, reproduce, or distribute Platform content;
- Use any part of the Platform for commercial purposes;
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access restrictions;
- Interfere with the functionality, integrity, or security of the Platform;
- Engage in any conduct that is unlawful or harmful to the Platform or its users.
4.4. Breach of this clause may result in immediate termination of access, legal action, and, where applicable, referral to regulatory or academic authorities.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1. All intellectual property rights in the Platform and its content (including but not limited to questions, explanations, databases, images, branding and code) are owned by or licensed to Master Medicine Ltd.
5.2. Users are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Platform for personal academic study only.
5.3. No part of the Platform may be reproduced, modified, distributed, published, or used to create derivative works without the express prior written consent of Master Medicine Ltd.
6. Service Availability
6.1. Whilst we take reasonable steps to maintain the availability and functionality of the Platform, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
6.2. Temporary unavailability may occur due to maintenance, upgrades, technical failures, or circumstances beyond our control.
6.3. Where service interruption exceeds 24 hours, extensions to subscriptions may be granted upon request at our sole discretion.
7. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
7.1. Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy and reliability of content, medical knowledge is continuously evolving. No content should be considered complete, up-to-date, or a substitute for formal education or clinical judgment.
7.2. You agree that Master Medicine Ltd shall not be liable for:
- Any reliance placed on the Platform for clinical purposes;
- Any inaccuracies, omissions, or outdated material;
- Any loss, damage, or injury resulting from your use of the Platform.
7.3. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the preceding 12-month period.
8. External Links
8.1. The Platform may contain links to third-party websites (e.g. NHS, NICE). These are provided for reference only and do not constitute endorsement. (Raja to confirm if this is the case – Remove if not applicable)
8.2. Master Medicine Ltd has no control over the content of such sites and accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of them.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
9.1. Master Medicine Ltd is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
9.2. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that we will collect and process personal data relating to you, including but not limited to your name, email address, payment information, and study activity, for the purposes of account administration, providing access to the Platform, improving our services, and complying with legal obligations.
9.3. We will only process your personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so, including:
- Where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract (e.g. providing access to your subscription);
- Where required to comply with a legal obligation;
- Where it is in our legitimate interests and those interests are not overridden by your rights;
- Where you have provided explicit consent.
9.4. Your personal data will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data with trusted service providers who help us deliver our services (e.g. payment processors or hosting providers), but only under strict data protection agreements.

10. Termination

10.2. Termination shall not affect our right to take legal action for past breaches.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
11.1. These Terms are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
11.2. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. However, we retain the right to bring proceedings for a breach of these Terms and Conditions in any relevant country.
